Tasting Notes

Radiating a ruby garnet hue, this wine opens with a deep, evocative nose of mulberry, blackberry and ripe plum, underpinned by a subtle turned earthiness that adds complexity. The palate greets with a rich, generous entry, where vibrant red fruits of raspberry and mulberry take center stage. Lifted acidity extends the flavors with precision and freshness, while a youthful tannin structure gently enrobes the fruit, creating both balance and depth. Poised and structured, this wine holds the promise of graceful evolution, making it an excellent candidate for cellaring.

      Vintage Notes
In 2023, Fiddlestix Vineyard enjoyed one of the longest and most gentle growing seasons in recent memory. Winter rains were generous, fully saturating vineyard soils and replenishing reserves, setting the stage for healthy early-season vine growth. Mild spring and summer conditions, with no significant heat spikes, allowed for slow, balanced canopy development and even fruit ripening. In Sta. Rita Hills, the unique east‑west valley orientation funneled cool maritime breezes and fog inland, extending hang time and preserving natural acidity while fruit skin phenolics matured beautifully. Growers benefitted from extended ripeness on the vine, striking a remarkable balance of intense varietal flavors, lifted acidity and tannin structure suitable for cellaring. Wines from this site reflect the cool-climate signature of Sta. Rita Hills - bright, precise and mineral-driven. The vintage yielded Pinot Noir that speaks of terroir with clarity, complexity, and age-worthy elegance.
