Tasting Notes

This vintage opens with a lifted aromatic profile of ripe red currant, blackberry, and violet, layered with graphite, baking spice, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, the wine is structured yet supple, with fine-grained tannins that frame a core of dark cherry, plum, and cocoa. Hints of tobacco leaf and sweet oak linger on a long, polished finish. The 2021 Reserve Cabernet Franc is both vibrant and deeply expressive, capturing the power and elegance of the vintage.

      Vintage Notes
The 2021 growing season in Napa Valley was defined by abundant sunshine and ideal vineyard conditions. Following early winter rains, the region experienced a prolonged dry period, creating an optimal environment for grape development. Budbreak occurred in April, with flowering in May, followed by a summer of early, even ripening. Harvest began in September and extended into October under clear skies, with only minimal early rain. Due to drought conditions, yields were low, producing smaller berries with concentrated flavors. The result is a vintage of exceptional quality, marked by vibrancy, structure, and expressive fruit character.
