Tasting Notes

With its luminous ruby garnet hue, this wine invites with a fragrant and refined nose - fresh strawberry and cranberry lead, accented by a gentle infusion of rooibos tea, delicate rose petal and soft floral undertones. The palate is equally expressive, with lifted red fruits of strawberry, cranberry and a touch of red plum - bringing brightness and elegance. There's a graceful vibrancy to the wine; it effortlessly dances across the palate, buoyed by a fine thread of minerality that adds depth and poise. The finish is long and persistent, with a youthful structure that promises graceful aging and continued evolution in bottle.

“The 2023 Pinot Noir Hallberg Vineyard is a rich, exuberant wine. A blast of dark cherry fruit, mocha, new leather and lavender makes for a strong open. This fleshy, broad Pinot offers plenty of textural impact and palate presence. It’s a big wine, but also impeccable in its balance.”– Antonio Galloni

      Vintage Notes
In 2023, Hallberg Vineyard experienced a growing season defined by patience and precision. A very cool, damp early season delayed bud break and bloom, and even when brief sunshine arrived in mid- to late June, the region quickly reverted to its hallmark fog pattern. Throughout July and August, temperatures remained moderate with rare heat spikes, allowing grapes to develop slowly and uniformly. The fruit displayed opulent phenolic ripeness, thick skins, and vibrant flavors while maintaining restrained alcohols, a hallmark of Hallberg’s dry-farmed Goldridge soils and cool-climate environment. The wines display luminous acidity, elegant structure and true depth.
