Tasting Notes

Dark as the night sky, the 2022 Madame de Latour beckons with irresistible, atmospheric aromas of marine salt air, misty slate pathways, and coastal chaparral. Like a siren song, the nose is ethereal, alluring, and captivating. The palate is equally seductive and enchanting, with dense, velvety tannins and sweet, dark fruit flavors of black cherry and plum trimmed in black licorice. Finessed by an undulating acidity, the finish is dark and yearning, seemingly endless, with a lash of savory black olive burnishing the lush fruit. This powerful wine has exceptional aging potential but can also be enjoyed now with a selection of Gouda, Beemster, and Fiscalini cheddar cheeses.

      Vintage Notes
The winter of 2022 was warm and dry, with rain and cooler weather passing through only toward the end of March. The mild spring gave an early start to the growing season, while summer surprised us with cool mornings and warmer afternoons. As a result, the harvest yielded small berries with concentrated flavors and remarkable acidity, from which wines of exceptional balance and taste were derived.
